Brainspotting

What a Brainspotting Session Looks Like

Brainspotting sessions are collaborative and paced with care. We begin by identifying something you would like support with—such as a feeling, memory, or current stressor.

Using a pointer or by guiding your gaze, we work together to find an eye position connected to where your brain may be holding that experience. Once that spot is identified, you simply notice what happens internally while maintaining a soft focus.

You may notice emotions, body sensations, thoughts, or memories arise. There is no pressure to explain everything. My role is to provide a supportive, attuned presence while your brain and body do the work of processing.

Is Brainspotting Right for You?

Brainspotting may be helpful if you:

  • Feel stuck even after years of talk therapy

  • Experience anxiety, overwhelm, or nervous system dysregulation

  • Notice emotional responses that feel bigger than the situation

  • Have experienced trauma or chronic stress

  • Struggle to put certain experiences into words

  • Want a therapy approach that works with the brain and body together

If you are curious about Brainspotting, we can explore whether this approach feels like a good fit for your goals and your healing process.

Brainspotting is a focused, body-based therapy that helps identify, process, and release trauma and emotional stress stored in the brain and nervous system. It developed out of EMDR and offers a more gentle, intuitive way of accessing and healing from difficult experiences.

Rather than retelling or reliving your story, we locate a point in your visual field that connects to where an experience may be held in your body. From there, we stay present while your brain and nervous system begin to process.

Your system already knows what it needs for healing. Brainspotting allows that process to unfold at a pace that feels right for you. It can be especially powerful for people who have spent years talking about their experiences but still feel stuck or disconnected.
